[KFI] Some records go gold, some go platinum, others just end up as a burrito.
Check out this very cool video of a tortilla that has been etched with a laser making it possible for Mexican food lovers to listen to their favorite tunes!
The YouTube user Rapture Records wrote in the video’s description that he used a Numark PT-01 record player to play back the uncooked flour tortilla. It turns out (after some experiments), that using an uncooked tortilla was preferable as a cooked tortilla resulted in a lumpier ‘record’ and was more likely to be shredded during playback.
The 78 rpm tortilla record may not have the best sound quality, but, hey, you can still make out “The Mexican Hat Dance” he recorded onto the tortilla.
The future is now.
