Chris Rock and actress Megalyn Echikunwoke have called it quits after dating for four years.
According to Page Six, the former couple have actually been broken up for a few months.
Commitment issues may have had a part in the demise of the relationship as the outlet’s source claims Rock was not ready to settle down with the 36-year-old, despite being together since 2016.
Echikunwoke was the comedian’s first girlfriend since he split from wife Malaak Compton-Rock.
Married in 1996, the pair welcomed two daughters and were together for 18 years before filing for divorce in 2014. Nearly 20 months later, the couple finalized their divorce in August 2016.
The “Dolemite Is My Name” actor previously admitted to cheating on his then-wife with three women, one of whom he told Rolling Stone was famous. He never revealed the celebrity’s identity.
In that same 2017 interview, Rock appeared to throw a dig at his ex-wife by complimenting Echikunwoke.
“I’m dating a girl now,” he said. “She’s got her own dough, it’s amazing.”
Echikunwoke has appeared in several films such as “CHiPs,” “Night School” and “Late Night.”
Most recently, she had a main role in the Fox freshmen series “Almost Family” alongside Timothy Hutton and Brittany Snow. Unfortunately, just last week it was announced the show would not return for a second season and was cancelled after airing 13 episodes.
Professionally, Rock is keeping very busy. He’ll next be seen on the big screen in “Spiral,” a reboot of the Saw horror franchise, and “The Witches,” which is an update of the 1990 film of the same name.
For the most part, Rock and Echikunwoke both kept their relationship off social media. One of the only times they shared pics of themselves together was from their appearance on the red carpet at the 2019 Met Gala.
It’s safe to say their break-up won’t be Instagram official.
