James Gandolfini Passes Away in Italy from Heart Attack
(TMZ) - James Gandolfini -- who famously played Tony Soprano on "The Sopranos" -- died earlier today in Italy ... TMZ has learned. Gandolfini is believed to have suffered a heart attack. He was 51. Gandolfini was in Italy to attend the 59th Taormina Film Festival in Sicily -- and he was scheduled to participate in a festival event this weekend with Italian director Gabriele Muccino. Gandolfini shot to fame playing a hitman in the 1993 hit "True Romance" ... and quickly became a Hollywood legend when he was cast as Tony Soprano in 1999. He won 3 Emmy awards for the role during the show's 6 season run. Gandolfini also appeared in a ton of huge movies including "Get Shorty," "The Mexican" and "Zero Dark Thirty." We last spoke to Gandolfini in May in L.A. -- he was in great spirits, making funny faces and joking about a "Sopranos" movie.

An aspiring rapper and supposed "friend" of Justin Bieber has filed a request for a restraining order against the superstar, claiming he is to blame for the thousands of death threats he has allegedly received from angry Beliebers Kevin Pederson, a 20-year-old wannabe rap star known as "King Kevi," has filed a restraining order against Bieber after the 19-year-old tweeted out Pederson's phone number and opened the flood gates of Belieber wrath, according to TMZ. He alleges the tweet was vengeance for media reports about their fake friendship. "Forty million crazy fans from all over the world are saying they want to stab me, come to my house and are giving out my address," he told E! News. "Thankfully, I have a guard at the gate. It doesn't make me feel safe when you have 40 million people against me and all know my number and address... [Bieber] is trying to disown me just to protect his image." Bieber's camp told TMZ the singer never even posted the tweet in the first place. But Pederson still wants Bieber to stay 150 yards away from him at all times.
Crazed Fan Blackmails J. Cole via Twitter
(TMZ) - Rapper J. Cole was basically extorted by a sick fan who tweeted a photo of a little girl with a gun to her head ... and claimed he would shoot her if Cole did not respond to his message. The fan tweeted last night "@JColeNC retweet me and I'll buy Born Sinner. Don't retweet me and I'll kill my lil sister." Shortly after the threatening tweet, which refers to Cole's new album ... Cole did indeed retweet the message. It's unclear if the gun is real or where the twisted bastard behind the tweet actually lives. The account, which we're not revealing, claims to be out of Saudi Arabia -- but the truth is it could be anywhere in the world. We reached out to police in North Carolina -- where J. Cole lives -- to see if they were investigating ... but they hadn't heard anything about it. We also contacted Twitter headquarters ... a rep said the company doesn't comment on individual accounts to protect privacy. This morning J. Cole commented about the incident, saying ... "Wildest s**t I ever seen on twitter."/p>
Bieber Involved in a Hit-and-Run! 
Justin Bieber has been accused of a hit-and-run crash involving a paparazzo in Los Angeles, but police are reportedly now saying that the singer is in the clear. TMZ reported the 19-year-old and Lil Twist hopped into the superstar's Ferrari after leaving the Laugh Factory late Monday night when a swarm of paparazzi surrounded them to take photos. Bieber began driving away, motioning for them to clear out, when he reportedly appeared to pin one photographer between his Ferrari and another car. He did not stop and the paparazzo was later taken to the hospital. The website later reported that the Los Angeles Police Department interviewed Bieber, his reps and witnesses and have determined that this wasn't a hit and run. The teen didn't know he had hit anyone and police are clearing him of any wrongdoing. CBS' KCAL reported that the LAPD confirmed there was an incident involving Bieber that occurred Monday night in Hollywood, but wouldn't provide any further details. No charges have been filed, according to KTLA.

Jackson lives in the same gated community in Calabasas, Calif. as Bieber, and TMZ sources say she hates the ‘Beauty and a Beat’ singer with a passion. However, while a few of Biebs’ neighbors aren’t fans of the star because of his reckless driving habits, Jackson’s issues cut a lot deeper: she’s mad at him for not raising awareness of self-harm and cutting. Incidentally, Jackson is currently being hospitalized for a suicide attempt and long-time self-harm. If you’ll recall, a horrible hoax among faux Beliebers emerged called “Cutting for Bieber” back in January. Jackson reportedly was furious with Bieber for not drawing more attention to the problem and thinks he’s a “disgrace” for not being a better role model for his impressionable, sizable fan base. At the time of the hoax, Bieber remained silent on the issue, and Jackson thinks he should have spoken out about it instead.

(The Boom Box) - Robin Thicke just scored his first No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for "Blurred Lines." This comes six albums into his decade-long career, surprising given how successful he has been thus far. "Blurred Lines," which was produced by Pharrell Williams and also features him and T.I., has received some unorthodox publicity thanks in part to a NSFW version of the accompanying music video, which was originally taken down due to the use of nudity. The song has also been used in a prominent (albeit fairly bizarre) commercial for the Beats Pill speaker line. "Blurred Lines" usurps Macklemore and Ryan Lewis' single "Can't Hold Us" atop the charts. Thicke's sixth album, also titled Blurred Lines, is slated for a July 6 release.

(TMZ) - Kanye West insists he did NOT cheat on Kim Kardashian with a Canadian model/bartender -- telling TMZ, the woman accusing him of being unfaithful is just out for some easy publicity. 24-year-old Leyla Ghobadi recently did an interview claiming she met Kanye at one of his concerts in July 2012 -- three months after Kim and Kanye began dating. She says Kanye had his security pick her out of the crowd and they went for drinks after. She claims they later engaged in two sexual encounters -- one while Kim was pregnant -- and that Kanye confessed his relationship to Kim was a sham in order to increase his fan base. But a rep for Kanye says it's all BS -- telling us, "This most recent attack on Kanye West and his family is totally without merit. It's a blatant attempt by a misguided individual who is clearly seeking publicity, and another in a series of malicious stories drummed up by non-credible 'news' sources." The rep adds, "This is a sad attempt to hurt two people trying to live their lives."

[Old picture] 2 Chainz, who was robbed at gunpoint just a few days ago, apparently thought it was a good idea to try and bring pot/San Francisco's "best smoke in the world" on a plane at the LAX airport. When the pot was found in his bag, just hanging out in his checked luggage along with promethazine, which is part of the recipe for sizzurp, he was quickly arrested for a felony narcotics possession, TMZ reports.
Chris Brown "I Like Being the Person Everyone Hates..."
After suiting up to attend his court appearance in Los Angeles yesterday (June 10), the 24-year-old singer posted on Twitter, "I like being the person everyone hates. Makes life exciting." Brown's court order was part of his probation review hearing that resulted from the Los Angeles County District Attorney Office's dissatisfaction with his court-ordered community service. And potential probation violation isn't the only offense facing Brown at the moment -- he could also be potentially prosecuted for criminal battery if his January fight with Frank Ocean resurfaces. The preliminary hearing is currently scheduled for July 15, and it looks highly likely that Brown will keep boasting about his bad-boy ways until then.
2 Chainz Robbed at Gunpoint
(The Boom Box via TMZ) - 2 Chainz was being watched this weekend, and it wasn't by the Feds. The rapper, who recently released his Pharrell-assisted new song, "Feds Watching," was robbed at gunpoint Sunday (June 9). TMZ reports that Deuce was in San Francisco at the time of the incident. At 4:30PM, police responded to a "shots-fired call." When they arrived at the scene, they found the rhymer, who was apparently uncooperative with the investigation -- he wanted to deal with the matter on his own. He claimed that his wallet was stolen and nothing else. Surveillance video of the area where the robbery took place showed 2 Chainz was the intended target. Also in the video were members of his entourage fleeing, most likely due to the gunshots being fired. The San Francisco Police Department is investigating the crime.

Jennifer Hudson reportedly signed on to judge the somewhat struggling Fox juggernaut, and now former judge Jennifer Lopez may be rejoining the judges’ table. Radar Online reports that Lopez and her management have been in talks with ‘Idol’ producers since before Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj even announced their exits from the show — and she was spotted with Ryan Seacrest this week, adding fuel to the rumors of a return. “Benny [Medina, Lopez's manager] told Fox that she does indeed want to return,” a source revealed. “They’re talking. Negotiations are in their infant stages, but they’re underway to get her back to the judges’ table.” Sources say that Lopez is eager to join the ‘Idol’ panel because of the stability it would provide for her twins, Max and Emme. “The twins will enter kindergarten in the Fall and stability is important for them –- and J. Lo -– at this time,” an insider said. “She’s looking for possible schools for the kids in Los Angeles at the moment.” The source added, “If she’s living in L.A. full-time she will be able to focus on her film career and other ventures, including her fashion business.”
Breezy Drama: D.A. Could Still File Charges In Frank Ocean Fight
Chris Brown is under criminal battery investigation ... TMZ has learned. Remember that brawl between Chris and Frank Ocean last January outside a recording studio? Law enforcement told us shortly after the incident the case was closed, but we found out that's not the case. We've learned the L.A. County D.A.'s Office has an active file and is deciding whether to prosecute Brown for battery. It's interesting ... because Ocean never formally pressed charges. Nonetheless ... the case is under review. It's possible the Brown/Ocean incident could come up today at Brown's probation review hearing. Brown is supposed to be in court, and the judge could raise the issue because Chris was ordered to obey all laws. BTW ... Brown is also being investigated for an alleged hit-and-run.

The album’s current single ‘Mirrors’ is parked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. It followed the comeback track ‘Suit & Tie.’ And it’s been a very good musical year for Timberlake. Even better news is the fact that JT was featured in a photo on the Kodaklens Instagram page alongside Jay-Z, rapper Nas and Timbaland. These four luminaries were in the studio. (MTV) - Kendrick Lamar sure made the most of his time in Detroit Wednesday night: Not only did he perform for thousands of fans on a scheduled stop on his good kid, m.A.A.d city tour, K-Dot also hooked up with Eminem in the studio. Last night, longtime Shady producer Mr. Porter posted a picture of himself, Eminem, Lamar, Schoolboy Q, Ab-Soul and Royce da 5'9" together. Then a second pic of Eminem and Kendrick hit the Web. Neither the Compton MC nor Em made any mention of the meeting on their social networking sites, though. And the posted pics don't actually mean that the crews have recorded anything.

Justin Bieber is the latest celebrity to sign up to head to space following the NASA cuts over the last few years. He will be joining Richard Branson's Virgin A-list space team of Ashton Kutcher and Leonardo DiCaprio in what will probably be a mission to explore the galaxy and help us find out more about the universe around us. Or maybe they'll just find this slice of pizza. Justin Bieber paid $250,000 to be a modern-day Ferdinand Magellan but that's only .2% of his estimated $110 million net worth so it's kind of like when you splurge on getting some ice cream. At least Bieber will only get that gross space ice cream. Now all we need is a kickstarter to make Bowie in Space a reality.

Pharrell Williams posted a photo of himself and his boy — that’s how he captioned it – Justin Timberlake in the studio. That leaves us to wonder if and hope that he and JT are working on the second volume of the latter’s ‘The 20/20 Experience.’ Pharrell worked on JT’s amazeballs solo debut ‘Justified’ so hopefully this means they are reuniting. JT is currently putting together the companion to his best-selling ‘The 20/20 Experience,’ so this appears to be all the proof we need that somethin’ is up and that Pharrell and his knob twiddling self will be involved.

(XXLMag) - Kanye West has become the subject of a new video game—a JRPG, to be exact. Kotaku reports that Mr. West has become the star of a fan-made Japanese role playing game Kanye Quest 3030. The game—whose title is also derived from Del The Funkee Homosapien and Dan The Automator’s Deltron 3030 project—finds the G.O.O.D. Music impresario duking it out with the clone of 2Pac, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre and even Lil B. This isn’t the first fan-made Yeezy video game floating around the Internet. Last year, a fan produced a Flash game called Kanye Zone, in which the player attempts to block Kanye from, “getting into his zone.” Check out the trailer at the top.
Paris Jackson Rushed to Hospital: Possible Suicide Attempt 
(TMZ) Paris Jackson was rushed to the hospital early Wednesday morning, and sources tell us it was a suicide attempt. Paris was taken out of her Calabasas family house on a stretcher at around 2 AM and taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital. The 911 call came in at 1:27 AM. We're told the caller reported a possible overdose, although a source connected to the emergency response said there were multiple cuts on one of her wrists. On Tuesday night ... Paris posted some cryptic tweets, including, "I wonder why tears are salty?" ... and "yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away now it looks as though they're here to stay." We're told she's doing ok.
Jay-Z in Talks for $20 Million Deal with Samsung
(XXL Mag) - If the New York Post‘s network of sources is to be believed, Jay-Z may be lining up a deal with Samsung Mobile that would be worth $20 million. The Post‘s source was quoted as saying that Jay was interested in creating a “new music-streaming service to promote his acts and music on mobile devices.” Samsung launched its Music Hub last August, which operated as a catch-all of a number of different mobile listening services, offering cloud storage, scan-and-match technology, a digital download store, and Internet Radio. The company also doubled its Music Hub staff in March, reportedly to double down on its status as a media platform in the mobile sphere, according to Billboard.

Miguel's Leg Drop Victim Might Have Brain Damage 
The girl who took Miguel's leg drop to the head at the Billboard Music Awards may have suffered brain damage ... the victim's lawyer tells TMZ. As you'll recall ... Miguel took a flying, theatrical leap across the stage and landed with thunderous force on Khyati Shah's head. Vip Bhola, Shah's lawyer, says, "Some of the difficulties she's experiencing are cognitive in nature and lead to suspicion of a neurological head injury." Bhola says BMA responded to the accident with a pathetic gesture -- an ice pack designed to soothe a bruised elbow. The attorney insists his client should have been rushed to the hospital. Bhola tells us his client is waiting for test results from a neurologist. When the results are in -- sometime next week -- Khyati will decide if a lawsuit is in the cards. Calls to Miguel and the BMA producers were not returned.
Will Smith's "After Earth" Bombs at The Box Office 
The day a new M. Night Shyamalan movie hits theaters might as well be labeled Critics’ Christmas. Ever since 2004′s The Village — and, even worse, 2006′s Lady in the Water — each successive film from the Academy Award-nominated writer/director has given writers a golden opportunity to one-up each other with jabs at Shyamalan’s oeuvre. And even though it’s more of a Smith-Smith joint than a Shyamalan picture — notice the absence of the director’s name from all of the movie’s promotional material – After Earth has been no exception. So far, the film has earned a paltry score of 32 on Metacritic and a horrendous 12 percent “fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes (EW’s Owen Gleiberman gave it a C+), which makes it just slightly more popular than recent misfires like The Host and The Big Wedding.

Bernadette Hernandez died Saturday of a brain aneurysm, according to a publicist for Mars' label, Atlantic Records, who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the person was not authorized to speak on the record. Hernandez was 55 years old. She died in Honolulu at Queens Medical Center; no other information was given.

Tons of Swift’s new neighbors are furious with her and her security team for apparently blocking access to a public beach by roping off her property, which is right near a public path to the shore. “Now that summer has come and people are getting ready to use the beach, people are really grumbling about having Taylor in town,” a source griped to Radar Online. “Her property line is at the path to the public beach and she always has guards patrolling the area. Woman Sues MAC, Claiming Herpes Came from Rihanna Lipstick
(The Boom Box) - A 28-year-old woman from Harlem, N.Y., claims she contracted herpes after using a Rihanna-endorsed lipstick at a MAC pop-up shop earlier this month. Starkeema Greenidge filed a lawsuit against MAC, in which she alleges that a MAC representative used RiRi Woo on her lips, which, in turn, caused her to subsequently contract the virus because a new lipstick tube wasn't used. "(MAC) didn't use a fresh or new lipstick tube, but rather one that had been used for other patrons," information in the suit reveals.

Daft Punk's "Random Access Memories" Tops Charts
After an eight year hiatus, Daft Punk is back and for the first time in their lengthy career, their album has debuted atop the Billboard 200 album chart. Good things certainly come to those who wait, and both fans and the French duo are reaping the benefits of this philosophy. Fans got an instantly classic album with ‘Random Access Memories,’ while Daft Punk are boasting record sales — moving 339,000 copies in the release’s first week on sale. The only other album to sell more in its first week was Justin Timberlake’s ‘The 20/20 Experience,’ — the singer’s first album in seven years. ‘Random Access Memories’ was released to high critical acclaim and is certainly turning both pop and EDM music on it’s head. Their lead-off single ‘Get Lucky’ is a disco anthem that seems to be setting up pop music to go in a vastly different direction than it’s been headed.
Mariah's Officially Done With American Idol
In news that we all saw coming, Mariah Carey has officially announced that she will not be returning as a judge on ‘American Idol‘ for Season 13. The FOX network issued a joint statement with FremantleMedia (the production company behind ‘Idol) that read (via E! News), “Mariah Carey is a true global icon — one of the most accomplished artists on the planet — and we feel extremely fortunate that she was able to bring her wisdom and experience to the ‘American Idol’ contestants this season. We know she will remain an inspiration to ‘Idol’ hopefuls for many seasons to come.” Only the fate of Keith Urban remains a mystery. Nicki Minaj is most likely out as a judge as well with sources saying she would not be returning due to her busy touring and recording schedules. Veteran panelist Randy Jackson also quit the show after his 12th (very drama-filled!) season.
Beyonce Peeved H&M Digitally Altered Her Bikini Ads 
Beyonce is miffed at H&M bosses. What did the execs at the discount retailer do to ruffle the feathers of the queen and their spokesmodel for the summer 2013 collection, which is full of bikinis aka “beykinis” and swimsuits? They tried to Photoshop her, that’s what.“When Beyonce found out they had edited the way her body really looked, she hit the roof,” the source shared. “She’s a true diva and was furious that she had been given such a snubbing. Her people refused to give the pictures the green light so H&M were forced to use the originals.” A rep for H&M confirmed that there were “discussions” about the photos, but that the final published images were not edited. The rep said, “As with all campaigns there are discussions on which images should be used. Both H&M and Beyonce are very happy with the final result.”

Kanye's "Yeezus" Might Not Be Available for Pre-Order 
Sorry, Kanye West fans, but if you’re looking to get your mitts on ‘Yeezus’ as soon as it hits stores on June 18, you’re totally out of luck. It seems as though Yeezy is barring his sixth solo studio album from pre-order. West’s friend and fashion designer, Jean Touitou, posted a picture of the album with a caption that reads, “No pre-order. Please purchase June 18.” Uh, what? Why? We get that Kanye is trying to be mysterious and all, but not allowing fans to pre-order an album is honestly just a stupid business move. Kanye is pretty much saying to fans, “Nah, I don’t want your money. Just pirate my album instead.” It seems like Kanye is following through on this asinine tactic seeing as ‘Yeezus’ is nowhere to be found in the iTunes store.

Sources say they are said to be in a trial relationship so they can test the waters and take it slow to avoid a repeat of past mistakes. An insider revealed the status of the pair to Hollywood Life, saying that they have fully reunited but that they are treading lightly, one step at a time, to make sure that being together is what each of them truly wants. “Justin and Selena are dating but they are taking things slow,” the source shared. “Selena is keeping her heart from being broken, so she is definitely looking at this as a trial period in their relationship. She’s definitely taking [baby] steps back.”

Drake's Dad Uploads Tracklisting for New Album on Instagram
(The Smoking Section) - Drake might want to yank his father – born Dennis Graham – off of Instagram. The rapper’s dad uploaded an image of, what appears to be, the tracklisting for his baby boy’s forthcoming album Nothing Was The Same on the social media website today, along with the caption “nwts.” The image has, of course, since been removed from his account, but, as we all know, nothing gets deleted from the Internet. This isn’t the first time Crown Royal Papa has spilled the beans on Drake’s project. Earlier this month, he revealed to a fan on Instagram that Nothing… had an August 27th release date. If the tracklisting is legit, as it appears, it’s going to be one helluva summer.

"They are definitely over," one insider tells Us of the ex-lovebirds, who met on the set of The Last Song in 2009 and got engaged in June 2012. The split comes after months of back and forth between the two, including a recent public display of affection at a party at the "Can't Be Tamed" singer's L.A. home. It's a case of a hot mic that's gotten Adam Levine in some hot water! On Tuesday's elimination round of "The Voice," Levine was heard muttering "I hate this country" when his contestants, Judith Hill and Sarah Simmons, were sent packing. Fans of the singing show took to Twitter after Adam's statement -- some agreeing with the Maroon 5 crooner and others clearly ticked off over his controversial comment. Bieber Under Investigation For Reckless Driving 
Justin Bieber is under police investigation for ANOTHER reckless driving incident -- allegedly driving his Ferrari at breakneck speeds in his gated community. The incident occurred at around 8 PM Sunday night. L.A. County Sheriff spokesman Steve Whitmore tells TMZ ... cops received 2 separate calls in different locations in the Calabasas community. Sources say one of the callers was Keyshawn Johnson. Whitmore says the callers reported Bieber was driving at a "startling high rate of speed." At least one child was playing in the area where Bieber was allegedly driving. We're told cops responded but Bieber refused to speak with them.

Amanda Bynes Goes After Rihanna on Twitter 
The troubled former actress took aim at Rihanna via Twitter, saying that Chris Brown beat her because she’s not pretty enough. Bynes, who retired from acting and has since gone nuclear with arrests, apparent substance abuse issues and more wigs than Nicki Minaj, threatens to sue publications via tweets all the time. Bynes tweeted: “@rihanna Chris Brown beat you because you’re not pretty enough.” She quickly deleted the post, but nothing dies on the Internet. Bynes also tweeted disgust at RiRi often referring to people as her “lover,” which made Bynes want to name her new dog Rihanna. No one is sure why Rihanna was Bynes’ target, but the onetime actress is a hotly watched and discussed media topic right now, which is why her tweets grab headlines. Ri saw the tirade and did offer a brilliant reply, which is below.

Chris Brown's in BIG Trouble
(TMZ) TMZ has learned the LAPD is investigating the singer, and it could trigger a probation violation that could land him in prison. What could have been a simple fender bender earlier this week is now a full-blown hit-and-run investigation ... after Chris Brown allegedly refused to give the driver he rear-ended his driver's license #. We're told he also gave the woman incorrect insurance info. What's more ... we're now told Chris copped an attitude when the woman pressed him for his ID, before refusing to ante up his DL. Brown is on probation for the Rihanna beating, and one of the conditions is that he obey all laws. If there's probable cause to believe he broke the law by leaving the scene without fully disclosing information required by law, his probation could be violated and Chris could go to prison for up to 4 years. We're told LAPD would like to chit chat with Chris ... STAT. Calls to Chris' camp weren't returned.
Blackstreet Bandmates in Legal War 
Chauncey Black, one of the founding members of the group Blackstreet, does not like the way Teddy Riley works it ... so he's taking him to court. Black claims in a new lawsuit he owns the name, but Teddy's been using it illegally. It's actually a bit more complicated. Black says originally Teddy owned the name but his trademark expired and Black then snapped it up. Black claims Riley has flagrantly violated his rights by performing with another band and passing themselves off as Blackstreet. As for why they're not performing together, Black claims he can't work with Riley because of his "uncooperation." A rep for Riley tells TMZ, "At this time we have no comment on ANY of the ridiculous and frivolous claims APPARENTLY being made by Chauncey Andre Hannibal aka'Black.'"
Charlie Sheen Changes Name for new 'MACHETE' Film
(TMZ) - Charlie Sheen used his birth name Carlos Estevez in the new Robert Rodriguez film Machete Kills, according to TMZ. It is the first time in the actor's career he was not billed as Charlie Sheen. Director Rodriguez' films, such as El Mariachi, Desperado and Machete, often celebrate Latino pride. Martin Sheen, Charlie's father, was born Ramón Antonio Gerardo Estevez from his Spanish father's side. He made up "Martin Sheen" to get acting jobs but never changed his name legally. He passed his last name by birth, Estevez, to all four of his children. Martin has said he regrets not using his real name as an actor.
