Lizzo Celebrates Black Girl Magic in Homecoming-Themed ‘Good As Hell’ Video: Watch

Baby how you feelin’? Nearly four years after its release, Lizzo finally unveiled the music video for her feel-good sleeper hit “Good As Hell” on Monday (Dec. 9).

Filmed during Homecoming Week at Southern University in Baton Rouge, La., the visual is a joyous celebration of black girl magic, shining a spotlight on the historically black university’s female musicians and artists as it follows members of school’s dance team, marching band and drumline.

“Boss up and change your life/ You can have it all, no sacrifice/ I know he did you wrong, we can make it right/ So go and let it all hang out tonight/ ‘Cause he don’t love you anymore/ So walk your fine a– out the door!,” Lizzo preaches as she leads a dance party with the Southern University marching band onboard a bus emblazoned with her name.

Originally released in 2016, “Good As Hell” currently sits at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 — the track’s highest peak yet after 14 weeks on the chart. The strut-worthy single follows the budding multi-hyphenate and eight-time Grammy nominee’s first-ever No. 1 hit, “Truth Hurts.”
