Netflix is increasing the monthly charge for some of its streaming plans starting today. The company’s subscription page shows the $9.99-a-month HD plan has been raised a dollar. The 4K streaming plan has been increased $2 to $13-99 a month. The basic plan remains at $7.99 a month.

New U.S. members will see the increase immediately, while existing customers will be given notice of the price change starting October 19th before their next billing cycle. Netflix says price adjustments are necessary, in part, as more exclusive TV shows and movies are added.
