ARIANA GRANDE CANCELS SHOW, OPENS UP ABOUT ILLNESS

Ariana Grande is ailing, and was forced to cancel her concert on Sunday night in Lexington, Kentuky.

The “thank u, next” singer has been battling illness for the past few days, sharing with fans on Saturday that she played through the pain for a show that night. “My head was literally beyond pounding. Throat too,” she said on Twitter. “I love y’all and can’t tell u how much I appreciate your kindness. I’ll keep u posted.”

Things got worse the following day for Ariana, as she offered an update. “I woke up kind of ten times worse and it hurts so bad to swallow, I’m not really sure what’s going on,” she explained in an Instagram story. “I unfortunately don’t think I’ll be able to push through tonight. I’m so sad and sorry. I’m so upset.”

“It sucks feeling like absolute s*** but it sucks way more to not be with u all,” she followed up on Twitter. “U mean the world. I hope u truly know. Love u.”

The outpouring of love came from all corners of the internet, including from new friend Barbara Streisand. The two linked up for a performance earlier this year, and the star was quick to share her own advice for the sickly singer.

“Take a strong Vitamin C drink with some Manuka honey,” Streisand wrote. “And of course get some chicken soup!”

Grande is nominated for Artist of the Year, Tour of the Year, and beyond at this Sunday’s American Music Awards. She is next scheduled to be on stage on Tuesday November 19 in Atlanta.
