COURTENEY COX OPENS UP ABOUT UPCOMING ‘FRIENDS’ REUNION SPECIAL

Could Courteney Cox be more excited?

Just days after it was announced that the “Friends” cast was getting back together for an epic hour-long reunion special, Cox is opening up about how much she is looking forward to it.

“So the exciting thing is that we’re all going to get together for the first time, in a room, and actually talk about the show, and it’s going to be on HBO Max, and I’m so excited,” the 55-year-old told comedian Kevin Nealon on his “Hiking with Kevin” YouTube series, reported E!. “We’re going to have the best time. It’s going to be great.”

Cox then emphasized how rare the moment will be since all six stars of the iconic series have never gathered in a room to discuss their time together throughout the show’s ten seasons.

“But we really haven’t all done that and actually sat there and talked about and reminisced about this incredible experience that we had,” she added. “It’s gonna be fantastic.”

While their on-screen reunion is rare, the “Scream” star also revealed she and Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer have only all hung out together twice since the show’s end in 2004.

“The ideal for me—and we just actually recently did this, and it took forever. I don’t know how many years it was, maybe 15 years—and we finally all got together and had dinner,” she continued. “And when we get together, which is never—it only happened…it just doesn’t happen very often, like twice since we ended the show—it’s just the most fun. We laugh so hard.”

One of those times was captured in an epic group selfie that Jennifer Aniston used to make her debut on Instagram.

“And now we’re Instagram FRIENDS too,” Aniston captioned the photo alongside her five former co-stars. “HI INSTAGRAM.”

Last week, HBO Max confirmed the “Friends” reunion would take place on the show’s original soundstage, Stage 24, at Warner Bros. Studios.

The unscripted special will be available, alongside all 236 episodes of the series, when the streaming platform launches in May.

After the announcement was made, Cox, Aniston, Perry, Kudrow and Schwimmer all shared a throwback photo of the cast with the caption: “It’s happening….”

It’s been reported that all six stars are being paid between $2.5 million and $3 million dollars for the sixty-minute reunion.
