DIPLO COULD FACE CRIMINAL CHARGES FOLLOWING SEXUAL MISCONDUCT ALLEGATIONS

Diplo has denied all allegations

Diplo, real name Thomas Wesley Pentz, may be facing criminal charges following allegations of sexual misconduct.
A new report from BuzzFeed News revealed that the Los Angeles city attorney’s office is considering charges of invasion of privacy and intentionally giving someone a sexually transmitted infection following a police investigation into the allegations.
A 25-year-old woman filed a report with LAPD in October 2020 and accused Diplo of recording sexually explicit videos of her without her permission, distributing at least one without her consent, and knowingly infecting her with chlamydia. The woman also filed for a temporary restraining order and in a civil lawsuit earlier in the year.
According to legal filings obtained by BuzzFeed News, the woman claimed Diplo first reached out to her through a private message on Twitter when she was 17 and that she first had sexual intercourse with him in 2018, when she was 21.
The woman also told police that Diplo had raped her in his hotel room following a concert in Las Vegas, BuzzFeed reports. No criminal charges have been filed in connection with that accusation.
“We are reviewing the referral and have no further comment at this time,” Rob Wilcox, a spokesman for the LA city attorney, told the outlet.
Diplo has denied all allegations and has obtained a restraining order against the woman. His legal team also filed a lawsuit against the woman accusing her of stalking, trespassing, and distribution of private materials.
