Drake has donated $100,000 to the National Bailout Collective to support the Black mothers and caregivers amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The rapper’s generous donation arrived, courtesy of a callout from collaborator Mustafa the Poet, who also tagged The Weeknd in an Instagram Story about some superstar donations. After donating $400 himself, the fellow Toronto act hoped that the two titans would be able to amplify his own donation amid the Black Lives Matter movement. “My Toronto Kings @champagnepapi @theweeknd. Swipe up & match my donation but add 3 zeros!” he wrote, adding, “Let’s help reunite black families.” Back in May, the National Bailout Collective announced that they had reunited 69 women with their families.

Drake went ahead with adding zeros with a six-figure donation and even joked that his bank had to call him to make sure this was a legitimate transaction. “They just called fraud on my card LOL,” he wrote. “I donated 100k. They were like nah [laughing emoji].”

As you know, protests all around the world have been non-stop after the killing of George Floyd, the Black Man who saw former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin put his knee on his neck until he passed out and eventually died. Since the tragic murder, Chauvin has been fired and arrested on charges of third-degree murder and manslaughter. Click here for ways on how you can help fight back against racial injustice.
