ED SHEERAN HAS COLLAB SURPRISES SET WITH TAYLOR SWIFT AND KYLIE MINOGUE

When Ed Sheeran announced his first new solo single in four years, we knew he had more up his sleeve. Surely enough, the “Bad Habits” singer has teased us with something that’ll blow away our wildest expectations.

Fresh off the release of “Bad Habits,” Ed has already ensured fans that his long hiatus from music will be worth the wait. Aside from his own, original tracks, he has a few surprise collaborations in the works with artists that already have us freaking out. Taylor Swift and Kylie Minogue.

Here’s the scoop on the Ed/Taylor collab. When Swift released her 2012 album Red, it featured the gorgeous song “Everything Has Changed” written by both Taylor and Ed.

Last week, Taylor announced she would be re-recording the album and is planning to release Red (Taylor’s Version) on November 19. While we were all justifiably freaking out, fans were wondering whether or not Ed would re-record the new version of “Everything Has Changed.” Surely enough, he will.

“I’ve already recorded it,” Ed revealed on the U.K. radio chart show The Official Big Top 40. “Taylor’s got a few surprises in store for you, I’ll say that,” he added. Will those surprises result in a collaboration on Ed’s new album? We can’t wait to find out.

While the possibility of a Taylor/Ed collab is certainly tantalizing, it appears Sheeran does have a collaboration with Kylie Mingoue that’ll be on his new record.

According to The Sun, Ed & Kylie wrote the song “Visiting Hours” together in March when he was in Australia at a memorial for his friend Michael Gudinski. After playing a short set on his own, he joined Minogue on stage for “All The Lovers” and “The Locomotion.”

“He wrote Visiting Hours in quarantine in Australia, performed it at the gig and asked Kylie to feature on it as she was there too, with the pair having hit it off,” a source told The Sun. “The song was a dedication to Michael and Kylie felt it right to put her vocals on the track. It was a fitting tribute to the music legend and she was flattered to be asked by Ed.”

No official release date has been set for Ed’s new album, but he did confirm in a recent Audacy Check In that it is on the way. How do we know? He played the whole thing for Elton John. “He’s always spot on,” Ed said regarding the feedback received from Elton on the record.

Ed’s latest single “Bad Habits” is now available everywhere.
