Gwen Stefani & Saweetie Go Back to School in High-Energy ‘Slow Clap’ Remix Video

Gwen Stefani and Saweetie hit the locker room and the gym floor for the high-energy “Slow Clap” remix video. The dynamo duo throw on jerseys and gym shorts as dancers double dutch and dribble basketballs in the background on the groove-infected version of the single, on which Saweetie takes two trips into the spotlight.

“I finally made it, so make it clap, make it clap,” the “My Type” rapper rhymes mid-way through the clip that dropped Friday morning (April 9), as she rocks bright pink hair, a hot pink cropped baseball jersey and matching star-spangled booty shorts. “Got the laffy taffy, make ’em lean, make ’em snap/ Saweetie got that Bubbalicious, chew it up it so delicious/ Stack, stack, stack, stack, stack/ My favorite position is CEO check the stats.”

The celebration of success ends with both women decked out in frilly prom dresses — pink for Gwen, powder blue for Saweetie — as they bounce on trampolines and the rapper tosses off a second verse with an iconic throwback line. “I ain’t no hollaback b–ch/ Now I got it, I ain’t gotta act rich/ They be on me ’cause I’m so attractive/ Pretty thug gang gang get active,” she rhymes.

Stefani dropped the reggae-spiced single last month as the follow-up to December’s “Let Me Reintroduce Myself.” The two songs are expected to appear on Stefani’s upcoming fourth full-length studio album, whose title and release date have not yet been announced.
