Lil Nas X Goes Acoustic for Chilled Tune ‘Sun Goes Down’: Stream It Now

Lil Nas X is absolutely, positively not a one-hit wonder.

The Georgia singer and rapper scored a touchdown with “Old Town Road,” which reigned over the Billboard Hot 100 chart for a record 19 weeks in 2019.

He’s established himself further with “Montero (Call Me by Your Name),” which bowed at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and remains the biggest song on the planet, as it enters a fifth week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 chart and third week atop the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. survey.

At the stroke of midnight, he dropped the new single “Sun Goes Down,” which captures a different mood. It’s a chilled, contemplative (and lyrically heavy) effort, framed with acoustic guitar.

On it, he sings: “I’d rather run away/ Don’t wanna lie, I don’t want a life/ Send me a gun And I’ll see the sun.”

The song arrives with an official music video directed by Lil Nas X and Psycho Films. Will he make it three No. 1s?
