NETFLIX RENEWS PENN BADGLEY SERIES ‘YOU’ FOR A THIRD SEASON

Hello, neighbor.

Joe Goldberg, his glass box, and his stalker baseball cap will be back for another season of “You” next year.

Netflix renewed the series for a third season on Tuesday morning.

The show’s social media pages shared a teaser video that featured the words “new year, new you.”

The video caption read, “See you soon, neighbor. You S3 is coming,” alluding to the neighbor that becomes the object of Joe’s affection in the final moments of season 2.

According to Deadline, the streaming giant ordered 10-episodes that will premiere sometime in 2021.

“Gossip Girl’s” Penn Badgley and “The Haunting of Hill House’s” Victoria Pedretti will reprise their characters, Joe and Love, respectively. Co-creators Sera Gamble and Greg Berlanti are set to return as executive producers.

The exciting renewal news was far from a surprise considering how the series cemented itself into the pop culture zeitgeist and became a social media phenomenon.

Despite season 2 premiering on December 26, Netflix revealed that it ranked at No. 5 on the top ten most popular series of 2019 list.

“You’s” first season aired on Lifetime before scoring a renewal and getting scooped up by Netflix.

The series, based on Caroline Kepnes’ bestselling book of the same name, tells the story of Joe Goldberg, a serial killer who becomes obsessed with a woman he meets at the bookstore. As the season progresses, Joe proves just how far he’s willing to go for love.

The second season, loosely based on Kepnes’ second novel titled “Hidden Bodies,” finds Joe moving from New York to Los Angeles for a fresh start. Unfortunately, his plans of avoiding love are thwarted by a new woman named Love and soon, his obsessive and murderous tendencies get the best of him.

“You” is currently streaming on Netflix.
