POST MALONE WANTS NEW ALBUM TO HELP PEOPLE THROUGH “THE DARKEST OF TIMES”

Like the rest of us, Post Malone is getting a bit stir crazy amid the COVID-19 lockdown, but he’s channeling his feelings into new music.

Speaking with WSJ. Magazine, the singer/rapper, 25, opened up about the follow-up to Hollywood’s Bleeding, admitting that the new sessions are meant to help people carry on. “I’m working on an album now. There’s so much to say in these times that will give people hope and hopefully uplift people’s spirits. Because it’s a dark time in America,” he told the outlet. “In the darkest of times I’m just trying to make something beautiful out of it…to be honest I think everyone in America is going a little bit crazy sitting at home all day. So I’ve gone a little bit crazy, and I wanted to take more steps outside of my comfort range and make music that I think—to me—is some of the best I’ve made.”

Malone, who is quarantining in Utah, went on to admit that he’s getting through the lockdown with alcohol and shenanigans. “We’re just getting hammered every day and doing funny s**t. I just drink in my house, and if I need a keg I go to Wyoming and bring it back. But don’t tell anybody,” he added.

Drinking aside, the star said that quarantine has helped him become a bit more introspective and that’s something that feels fitting as he records another album. “I want to make an album that will uplift and show that people are not alone in their times of loneliness and worry and that at the end of the day we all just need to show love to everyone on the planet and figure things out,” he explained. “So we’re working pretty hard, and I think we’re making some incredible stuff.”

However, Malone has plans for when we’re allowed to venture back into the world and they’re not in any way low-key. “I have a big ass boat chartered in Greece. So the day this all ends I’m getting my ass right over there,” he confessed.
