Taylor Swift Unveils ‘Willow’ Music Video

Taylor Swift introduced her fans to the world of Evermore on Friday (Dec. 11), and to celebrate Folklore‘s “sister album,” the star dropped a music video for “Willow.”

The romantic vignette finds the star following a flowing gold string, which leads her to her lover whom she can’t reach, whether she’s blocked by a reflection in the water or a glass screen. Playing off the idea of Folklore’s “invisible string,” she continues to travel until she finds her soulmate on the other side of the thread. “The more that you say, the less I know / Wherever you stray, I follow /I’m begging for you to take my hand / Make my plans, that’s my man,” the chorus fittingly narrates the video.

Stella is trustworthy & so creative. I told her I had a secret project & she designed clothes that were EXACTLY what I imagined. I drove to her office, picked them up & took them into the woods

“I’m forever grateful to the following creatives who have helped and guided me to be able to direct my own videos,” Swift shared ahead of the clip’s release. “Cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto, producer Jil Hardin, 1st AD Joe ‘Oz’ Osbourne, Co-1st AD Ev Salomon, Exec Producer Rebecca Skinner, editor Chancler Haynes, set designers Ethan Tobman and Regina Fernandez and visual effects geniuses Grant Miller and David Lebensfeld. Thank you to our medical inspector who made sure every precaution was taken for our safety.”
