Taylor Swift Urges Swifties to Register to Vote by Creating Resources List: ‘We Need Everyone’

Taylor Swift took to Instagram Stories on Tuesday (Sept. 22) — National Voter Registration Day — to urge the Swifties to use their voices ahead of the Nov. 3 presidential election.

“Hey guys, it’s National Voter Registration Day today, the election is Nov. 3. It’s really coming up,” she said. “And I’ve put together a ‘swipe up’ of resources. … We need everyone, and it is more important than I can even possibly say.”

Once viewers swipe up on her Stories, they’ll be directed to a special T-Swift page of voting resources, with links to register to vote, check one’s voter registration status, request an absentee ballot in the mail, and see an early voting calendar for every state.

She joined Billie Eilish, DJ Khaled, Usher and more stars to launch the Just Vote campaign on Sept. 8, an initiative by Global Citizen and HeadCount to motivate the younger generation to exercise their democratic right this November. The Folklore singer offered an autographed guitar in a drawing with registered fans. The winner will be chosen on Oct. 7.

The “Betty” singer isn’t the only musician who is encouraging fans to make sure their voices are heard election day. Cardi B, Bon Iver, Kesha and more have shared reminders for people to register Tuesday. Rocker Patti Smith even gathered some famous friends — including Michael Stipe and Cyndi Lauper — to join her in singing “People Have the Power.”
