The Weeknd & Kid Cudi’s Twitter Exchange About Collaborating Has Fans Going Crazy

Hmm, what are The Weeknd and Kid Cudi up to?

A fan asked Cudder, who’s still over the moon about “The Scotts” with Travis Scott becoming his first No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100, on Twitter yesterday (May 7) if the two were cooking up something together in the studio. So he asked his fellow chart-topping friend. “Abel? Thoughts? @theweeknd,” “The Scotts” singer tweeted.

The “Blinding Lights” singer cunningly responded with a GIF that suggested yes, which Cudi approved. “hahaha let’s get it!!” the 36-year-old rapper tweeted back at him.

On Monday (May 4), The Weeknd publicly congratulated Cudi for his first No. 1 song, writing on Twitter, “Congrats to the great MESCUDI !!!” That knocked the wind out of their dual fanbases, with one person sprinkling in the hitmaking ingredients to further stir the pot: “kid cudi humming and you singing oooh aah would make a #1.”

The two high-ranking artists have yet to formally collaborate. But last November, The Weeknd premiered Cudi’s remix of “Privilege” from his 2018 EP My Dear Melancholy on the Halloween episode of The Weeknd’s Beats 1 radio show Memento Mori.
