According to a new survey conducted by PlayOJO in the U.K., Meghan Markle is considered to be the most unfairly treated person of 2019. More than 2,000 people participated in the survey with 50 percent of them voting for Meghan.
It comes as no surprise that people feel Meghan was treated unfairly in 2019. The Duchess of Sussex recently opened up about the overwhelming amount of criticism she faced over the past year. From the private jet backlash to being mom-shamed for how she holds Archie, Meghan has definitely experienced some unfairness this past year.
A spokesperson for PlayOJO opened up about Meghan being voted into the top spot. “We’re keen to re-address the 2019 balance and not only acknowledge Meghan Markle’s tumultuous year, but offer her some respite,” they said. “Whatever you think of her, the majority of us Brits clearly agree on one thing – she’s had a pretty tough year.”
“Ever since her relationship with Prince Harry became public, she has become the victim of severe and often unjustified criticism. It’s no surprise the nation thinks she’s been the most unfairly treated person of 2019,” the spokesperson continued.
PlayOJO even asked the survey participants how they could help make Meghan’s year fairer in 2020. “Answers ranged from giving her some down time to simply getting her a drink,” the spokesperson revealed. While those are thoughtful suggestions, they’ve decided to make a donation to Smart Works, of which Meghan is a royal patron.
